For the last two decades, Bollywood has been ruled by the three Khans this country loves and adores – Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir Khan.  In the 1990s and even early 2000s, the Indian audiences had the fortune of watching atleast two of these three Khans sharing screen space. While Shahrukh and Aamir Khan never acted together in a movie, Salman did movies with both Aamir and Shahrukh. With Aamir Khan, he acted the comic strip Andaz Apna Apna in 1994, and with Shahrukh, he did Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (2002). But unfortunately, rifts arose between the Khans during the last few years, and they’ve stopped doing movies together. In the past few years, the Khans have often been seen passing sarcastic comments against each other and have even had fights with each other in public.

This has created a rather strange situation for the actresses, because it’s the dream of every actress to act with all the three Khans. But because of the way things are between the Khans, if an actress starts her career with one of the Khans, more often than not, she remains confined to acting only with that Khan. Let’s take Katrina Kaif for example. She acted with Salman in several movies, and even had a much talked-out relationship with him, and as a result, hasn’t had an opportunity to act with Shahrukh and Aamir. Similarly, Anushka Shetty and Deepika Padukone, who started their careers with Shahrukh Khan films, haven’t acted with Aamir or Salman. Some people may say the height of the heroines might be a factor, but this argument isn’t very convincing. If Shahrukh Khan’s height suits Deepika and Anushka, so can that of the other two Khans. Aamir and Salman have acted with Sonali Bendre and Sushmita Sen, both of whom are not shorter than them by any means.

There is, however, one heroine who has managed to bag projects opposite all the three Khans,  and all of these projects created waves at the box office. That’s none other than Kareena Kapoor. Kareena’s first movie with the Khans was Asoka, with Shahrukh Khan, in 2001. She set the screen on fire with the hot number Raat Ka Nasha Abhi, and was appreciated for her portrayal of a daring princess.  Then came the film Kyon Ki (2005) where we saw the ravishing Kareena pair up with the very handsome Salman Khan for the first time. She played a role of a sensitive daughter who falls in love with a mentally retarded man and works towards bringing him back to normalcy. Kareena also acted in Don (2006) and Bodyguard (2011) with Shahrukh and Salman respectively. Both these films were major hits at the box office. She acted opposite Aamir Khan in the highly successful and critically acclaimed 3 Idiots in 2009. She played the role of a young, bubbly daughter of a strict father, and looked stunning as always.

What makes Kareena a hit with all the three Khans – her beauty, talent, attitude or good PR skills? It’s difficult to tell, for there are many others who have all of these. Some things just click, and it’s good they do. We wish Kareena all the success and hope she continues to deliver smash hits with all the three Khans. We also wish the differences between the Khans get sorted some day, and we once again get to watch these three breathtaking actors together on the silver screen.
