Bollywood industry has been well known for years for its charitable companies and events organized for raising funds for the welfare of the society. Some celebs organize their own charity ways to raise their trusts while some throw cause events and shows to promote the need of charity for the welfare of the society.
The Mijwan Welfare Society, the Shabana Azmi’s NGO hosted a fashion show to raise funds to support the survivors of various flooded regions around the country. The show was held on the 3rd of September at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai. To make the event more impressive, Azmi named the show as the Mijwan Sonnets in Fabric 2012. This show was started three years before, as every year emphasizes on collections of various prominent designers of the era.
The show was tremendously a great time to spend. It was truly the raining moment of celebs as the show had most prominent actresses of the year. The show mostly emphasized on the designs of Manish Malhotra, making him popular and loved as ever. Though all of tried to stay traditionally attired, there was something impressive in every outfit. Actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Parineeta Chopra, Malaika Arora Khan, Dia Mirza, Neha Dupia, Ankita Shorey and many more looked great in designs of Manish with traditional touch of the Mijwan girls. Manish included the embroidery designs done by the Mijwan Welfare Society girls, which brought in a new theme of contemporary with modern designs.
Not just the female personalities of Bollywood industry contributed to the successful evening, but even the males had great hands to it. Famous personalities like Imran Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Rohit Shetty, Karan Johar, Prabhu Deva and many more walked the ramp in gorgeous outfits by Manish.
Moreover, the gala fashion event also had brought in the unusual like Kalki Koechlin, Shahana Goswami, Chitrangada Singh, Sameera Reddy, Pratiek Babbar, Shahzhn Padamsee and many more. Mary Kom, the Olympic bronze medalist also walked the ramp for Azmi’s charity show. Another famous personality, though completely not related to the Bollywood industry, Nita Ambani also walked the ramp with Azmi’s niece Meghna and Babita.
This cause fashion show ran successful the way it was planned. The welfare society, Mijwan played a great role in making the show successful and meaningful. Many tweets followed up the next day, describing and praising the beauty the show had reflected out the previous night. In simple words, this show was the best one of the hatrick years.
